Designing of ski runs
ProAlpina AG performs the entire complex of survey, design and engineering work with obtaining of the reports of all necessary examinations and permits for the main systems of the ski complex.
We elaborate the design documentation for the following types of ropeways:
- with fixed or detachable chairs or cabins, as well as combined types (cabins and chairs at the same time);
- pendulum type;
- towing type;
- funiculars;
- babylifts for skiers and snow tubing.
The construction of the skiing area begins with its design, and for our designers - with a detailed study of the selected sector first on the map, and then on skis and legs, when all the features of the terrain that are invisible on the map can be identified, the key points are determined on the sector around which the architecture of the skiing area is lined and roads are paved. We do not allow ourselves the laying of tracks only according to the map, as a result of which there are clusters of parallel identical and therefore boring and uninteresting tracks. Owing to it, each skiing area has its own particular patters, and the tracks are diverse and do not bore those who spend one or two weeks on them.
At the design stage, we try to take into account the preferences of all groups of skaters. The fact is that the French surveys using aerial photography showed that every fourth skier skis on tracks with a slope of less than 15%, and almost every second skier with a slope of less than 20%. It became apparent that this category of skiers, not very experienced or elderly, is a commercial support, and the designer must take care of them, by laying out a sufficient number of easy green and blue tracks.
Our next task at designing is the organization of summer holidays on the same slopes and with the same equipment, as in the winter season. Our projects provide for ensuring the all-season operation of the ski resort - this is the most important economic task, which requires serious study in designing.
